They're Thinking Of Each Other

Dierks was named a presenter at the Grammy Awards.
Dierks Bentley is an award-winning country music singer. Like most singers, though, his career - and his life - has had its ups and downs. So, when he started his Riser Project last year, it was one of his most personal. He began the project about a year after his father died.

However, the project was not about grief and sadness. It was about resilience and determination, the ability to rise up out of the ashes of the obstacles life throws your way. It's about optimism, recommitment, even rebirth.

Dierks comments, "Life in general has a way of knocking you down. It's different reasons for different folks - could be personal reasons, could be family reasons, your job. drugs, alcohol. That song ["I'm A Riser"] really applies to anybody that's lived. There have always been those moments when we have to get back up and get on our feet. They are defining moments...breakthrough moments."

This most recent project comes about two years after his previous album and project, Home. There was some focus on family, the draw that brings you back from extensive time on the road. There is also that one special song, one Dierks wrote about his relationship with his daughter, Evie. On one special night, Feb. 3, 2012, before a live audience at the Ryman arena, his daughter joined him in the performance, Evie sang with him, performing a heartwarming rendition of "I'm Thinking Of You", a song written about her. And always, Dierks carries his daughter in his heart wherever life takes him.
