They Got Married

Generally, after all of the planning, the special day, and the honeymoon, marriage ends up being part of the bio of many couples. But for some couples, those words present a challenge, something that becomes disrupted by life events and illness. That is what happened to Mario and Elaine from Jersey City.

They met when Elaine, who liked zombie movies, was filming her own zombie picture. Mario happened onto the set, she invited him to act in the movie, and the couple fell in love. Shortly after Mario proposed and Elaine accepted, she became ill and was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma, a form of cancer.

Although they postponed the wedding, Mario also quit his job in order to take care of the love of his life. The costs of Elaine's medical care mounted during the ensuing six years, especially with neither one having a job to earn additional income. Mario said, "You don't know the pain it is to see a loved one going through this, and there is absolutely nothing I could do." That meant that the couple's wedding would continue to be postponed, until Prank It Fwd stepped in.

The group made plans for Mario to slip out to the bathroom when the couple went to a local movie theater, while their custom-made movie preview ran with the details of the couple's lives together. Boy, was Elaine surprised! On cue, Mario appeared and asked Elaine to marry him then and there at the movie theater; she accepted.

The crew sprang into action and outfitted the couple into tux and gown. The ceremony proceeded through wedding and reception, all financed by Prank It Fwd. But then there would have to be a honeymoon, too. And there was, an all-expense paid honeymoon to Hollywood, California, a dream-come-true for a couple enamored of zombie movies. Oh, and there's one more thing. What's a wedding without a gift? Prank It Fwd provided the newlyweds with $20,000 to help them get started in their life together. It was a fitting start to a life together that had been postponed by physical challenges. Mazel tov!  Enjoy; you both deserve the very best.
