Co-founder and CEO, Jason Goldsmith, has been a busy man this spring. While running this multi-faceted company, he has also received some very special recognition.
At a special reception on May 12, Mr. Goldsmith was presented with the 2016 Dean's Recognition Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Towson Alumni Association at the College of Liberal Arts. This very prestigious award is given in recognition of a TU alumni who has made outstanding accomplishments and exhibited significant professional growth within his or her field.
Mr. Goldsmith stated, "It is a deep and heart-felt honor to receive this award from my alma mater. Towson is where I first uncovered my entrepreneurial spirit and passion. During my junior year I started my first e-commerce site, selling of all things, South Park t-shirts. My education and the relationships I formed at Towson laid the foundation for the success I've experienced in my career."
Before founding CARCHEX, Mr. Goldsmith founded and sold TheLoanPage.com and GoldNet Marketing. Under his leadership, CARCHEX has grown from $20,000 in revenue to a predicted revenue of $100 million this year. In additon, Mr. Goldsmith gives back to the community by serving on the board of The Greater Maryland Better Business Bureau. His company, CARCHEX also has a partnership with Mothers Against Drug Driving (MADD), which aligns well with his company's mission.
And speaking of the company's partnership with MADD, CARCHEX was able to raise and contribute $34,841 to MADD, bringing the two-year total to $57,041. Mr. Goldsmith said, "Our corporate purpose is to protect Americans by helping to save lives on our nation's roadways. Our employees believe strongly in this purpose and have been very supportive of MADD with their time and energy."
The strength of the demonstrated commitment by CARCHEX was recognized a year ago at the MADD Difference Makers Luncheon, where CARCHEX was named a Strategic Alliance Partner. Joe Campanella, executive vice president at CARCHEX shared his feelings, "It's an honor to be recognized for our efforts in support of MADD. Through my role on the MADD Maryland board, I see the great work they do in our communities. We will continue to support those efforts and grow our relationship with MADD in 2016."
