Thankful Surprise

Noah carrying in one thank-you pizza.
Noah Michaelis, age 10, is a grateful young girl. She knew just what to do to express that gratitude. The firefighters of Los Angeles Fire Department Station 72 aren't that far away from where Noah was selling lemonade to raise money for children born with congenital heart disease, which she also has experienced.

Those firefighters were regular customers at Noah's lemonade stand; some even brought their friends. So, just this past Sunday, Noah bought some pizza and had a party for her loyal supporters at Station 72. There were smiles all around.

Noah had completed three open heart surgeries to correct her congenital heart condition in 2009, from which NOAH'S FESTIVAL OF LIFE was started. This annual event is another fundraiser for HOPEFUL HEARTS FOUNDATION, for which Noah was selling the lemonade. This organization provides needed financial support for families with a child affected by congenital heart disease.

Certainly, Noah has been proving that, despite congenital heart disease, she has a heart of gold. As for the firefighters? They're rather pleased with being able to give back to a terrific kid and provide for a community need.
